You did it AGAIN! It’s official – the 2014 Guinness World Record (GWR) for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ is 36,564 participants from 22 countries around the globe. That’s AMAZING – five years – five Guinness World Records and more than 100 milllion media impressions helping spread the word Swimming Lessons Save Lives™!
In addition to a new multi-venue world record, Sun-N-Fun Lagoon in Naples, Florida set a new Guinness World Record for the largest swimming lesson ever conducted at a single location with 1,308 swimmers participating in their WLSL event. Congratulations!
Since our first record attempt in 2010, more than 120,000 individuals have participated in WLSL events and millions and millions of individuals have learned about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning.
We are so grateful to all the aquatic centers, pool and waterparks around the globe who have hosted WLSL events and to our participants, supporting organizations, sponsors and the media that help spread our vital message.
Mark your calendars for next year’s date June 18, 2015! Stay tuned for more details.
Thank you! GO TEAM WLSL!
